| Genesis sports an adorable purple tie for Alzheimer Awareness! |
Last month, I posted about the Alzheimer Challenge hosted by the Augusta Music Teacher's Association for World Alzheimer Awareness month. Suzuki student, Genesis Williams, stepped up to the challenge. She practiced diligently each day, and her efforts paid off! Genesis raised $116.00 towards the benefit for the Jud C. Hickey center for Alzheimer Care. In addition to that, she performed at a community recital hosted by AMTA at the Elmcroft Senior Living Community. In November, she will be performing at Jud C. Hickey for National Alzheimer's Awareness.
I am extremely proud of Genesis, and was beaming from ear to ear during her performance at Elmcroft. It was stated by those who attended that Genesis has a "presence", and I tend to agree. She entered the room with confidence and poise, and she was spot-on in the beauty of her tone and technique.I see awesome things to come with Genesis, and I am going to enjoy watching her every step of the way as she continues to heighten her abilities. This young lady is tops!
*This post is in honor of the lovely Genesis Williams. A special shout-out to all of the loving donators who supported her in this challenge, as well as the support that you are giving to those suffering with Alzheimer's.
Stay tuned for more student participants!
