Suzuki Piano Concert at Jessye Norman's School of the Arts

Hannah...beautiful as always!

Students of Graham's Music Studio had the joy of performing in a Suzuki Piano Concert at Jessye Norman's School of the Arts!  What an awesome experience! A heartfelt thanks to Charles and Tammy Kelly for graciously hosting the event. They chose such an awesome location!! Charles and Tammy lovingly arrived early, did all of the decorating, and set things up so that everyone could simply enter and relax.

I am incredibly grateful for the loving and outstanding parents at my studio. They go beyond what I ask of them and then some! Each of them touch my heart in more ways than words can convey.

We are busy bees at the studio. Students work hard learning and preparing pieces to perform for group performance classes each month. In addition to learning their pieces, they do background research to share in class about the pieces they are performing. (Composer info. Learning about various countries and customs for folk tunes and locating it on the map. Nature/science facts for songs such as Cuckoo, Lightly Row and Honeybee.) Students also have fun playing music theory games and creating music themed crafts together after their performances during Suzuki group performance class.

In addition to all of the wonderful accomplishments during private lessons and group classes, our students have been active beyond the studio. We’ve had students excel at piano auditions and theory exams at local music festivals held at Augusta University. Students who performed in masterclasses and international concerts hosted by the Suzuki Piano Basics Foundation. We have students who perform in their places of worship, school performances and talent shows. Each and every student has shown incredible growth and progress, and they should feel very proud of what they have achieved.

Here are some of the awards received that was presented during our Suzuki Piano Concert.

Clavier's Piano Explorer - Hannah Kelley received Piano Explorer certificate for entering the 100 days of consecutive practice challenge and succeeding!  Her name was also published in their monthly magazine.

Samantha Holmes -photo right- practices diligently each day and is already performing solos above her level though recently starting piano lessons within a few month. She has also performed at her place of worship.

Hannah Kelly-photo at the beginning of blog post- Auditioned with the Atlanta Suzuki Association to perform in the Suzuki Graduation Concert and passed.  Will perform at Spivey Hall Feb 2019. Hannah has performed for talent shows and a graduation ceremony at her school.  She also regularly performs at her place of worship.

Piano Performance and Written Theory Examination (Hosted by the Augusta Music Teachers Association at Augusta University.)

The following students received a "Gold Seal" Certificate for being rated Superior on each of their performances and/or theory. "Excellence" pins were given to students in addition to their certificates for those who were rated superior on both performance and theory - grade 100%. *See group photo below.

Suzuki Piano Graduates  (Trophies) *See group photo below.
(Book 1) Kennedy Green  - Performed entire book by memory at her Suzuki Piano Graduation Concert. Auditioned with the Atlanta Suzuki Association to perform in the Suzuki Graduation Concert and passed.  Will perform at Spivey Hall Feb 2019.

(Book 3) Robert Green - Performed graduation solos for Senior Citizen home, and also performed for master teachers from Matsumoto, Japan.  He will be performing in Japan April 2019.

Way to go, each and every one of you! Continue your fine work.  We love you, and we are routing for you!
