Robert Performs at Matsumoto 10-Piano Concert

Congratulations Robert on your outstanding performance in the 10-Piano Concert in Matsumoto, Japan!!! In a previous post, I shared about our trip to Louisville, KY to meet with master teachers Keiko Ogiwara and Keiko Kawamura in the hope of receiving their approval for Robert to participate.  We are so thankful for their blessings, and enjoyed our experience in Japan immensely!!!

Photos of the 10-Piano rehearsals are posted in our gallery. I started with Day 1- photos at the airport, beginning with Augusta, then moving on to Atlanta. The flight was 13 hours. Included are photos of wonderful teachers and students we met upon our arrival to Tokyo. From there, we all took a 3 1/2 hour ride together by bus to Matusmoto. There was such a warm and loving reception upon our arrival to Matsumoto from both master teachers and homestay families!!!

Most of the rehearsals were at the Asama Onsen Bunka Center. Here is a photo of the bus that I rode often to get there: https://tinyurl.com/yygmwld8 . On the long window rails, there is a red button at each seat to press when it gets to your stop. There are a few scenic photos of what I saw while walking to the bus stop, and on my way to lunch.

The dress rehearsal and concert took place at Harmony Hall: Photo 1 - Photo 2 . Here is a photo of Robert discussing what he would say for his interview at the concert - https://tinyurl.com/y5lgg55d. The lovely lady beside him during the rehearsal interpreted on his behalf to the audience for the concert. The photos that you are seeing were taken during rehearsals. Photos are not allowed during the concert because they wouldn't want it distracting the students during their performance. Professionals were hired to video the concert.
