April Adventures

Charlie

April has been a very busy month! We started by getting ready for The Masters. Students are having fun doing Music Theory Putting. Notes, keyboard recognition, dynamics and tempo questions are on each of the practice putting balls. When students answer correctly, they try their hand at putting!

April is also Deaf/ASL Awareness month. In honor of that, we did the music alphabet in American Sign Language. I purchased a cool musical step-on keyboard. For beginners, I would share a sign language alphabet flashcard and students were to step on the correct answer on the keyboard. Student that can read notes were shown a note recognition flashcard. They answered using sign language and stepped on the key.

Due to the pandemic, it has been a while since Phinizy Swamp Nature Park has hosted an Earth Day Awareness event. This year they did it, and we were so excited!!! Our Piano Naturalists met at the studio at 9:00 AM for Performance Class. Parents, students and I made bag lunches so that students could have a bite to eat on their way to Phinizy or while enjoying the event. We had a blast at this event!! I'm so thankful to all of the hard workers that made this event such a success. (New pics added in our Photo Gallery!)
